Winning Poets recognized

"If I Could Go Anywhere" was the theme of this year's annual poetry contest for children and young adults. We received over 900 entries in this year's contest.

This morning we were excited to honor over 20 young poets for their creative writing efforts. An audience of nearly two hundred proud family members, friends and teachers watched as children in Kindergarten through Grade 5 read their poems and were recognized for their efforts.

This afternoon the young adults will take the stage as poets in Middle School and High School are recognized. The booklet of winning poems will be bound into a hard-copy book, cataloged, and added to the permanent ACPL book collection.
